That Fat Boy Slims – The Ketogenic Diet – Day 29
Sluggish start this morning – I woke up feeling absolutely shattered. I did my usual and weighed – my rogue 1lb has gone again. Little fucker. After I made the kids’ packed lunches I opted for a bulletproof coffee. I made the usual and added two drops of lemon flavoured liquid stevia – could barely taste it but that was fine compared to the caramel disaster.
We were running late this morning so ended up driving to the school – the bell didn’t go until after 09:05 so we probably could’ve gotten away with walking!
As I was vacuuming, the postie delivered our House of Keto Brethalyser – I did a test and it said I wasn’t in ketosis. I was a bit gutted and figured the minimal carbs in my bulletproof coffee might have been enough to kick me out of it. I tested later and found I was in ketosis – yay!
After we got Georgia from school we went shopping and picked up some meat and ingredients ready for prepping a few meals ready for my work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Aside from the tiredness in the morning, I felt pretty good until I had a spat on Facebook which really knocked me off track and I’ve been feeling pretty shitty for the rest of the day. Eighteen days off my anti-depressants without falter or struggle and I get set off today. It shouldn’t get to me; it feels pathetic that it has but that’s the way depression goes, hey.
For dinner, we had roast chicken with spring greens and asparagus. It was lush but about twenty minutes later I was feeling hungry. My wife and I made chocolate brownies. I messed up, I added a teaspoon of salt as opposed to half as I misread the recipe. It’ll be alright, won’t it? Nope. I’m not a big salt person anyway and my faux pas really fucked this up – damn, I was really looking forward to having a treat. My wife couldn’t eat hers so I had hers too – we still have about 18 pieces left… I don’t see myself being able to consume it. Oh well, you live and learn.
