Nerdful Things – Amazon Haul 11/09/17
I love Amazon. I used to buy a ton of stuff on eBay back in the day and, while I still do, eBay has lost it’s shine for me. I generally shop around finding the best prices but Amazon is my main go to because I usually have TopCashback pay out my cashback using Amazon gift vouchers because they give you a little extra as a percentage as opposed to the bare basic via BACS.
As I mentioned in my last post, I ordered ‘Zombie Dice‘, ‘Get Bit!’ and ‘Murdero‘ on Saturday while I was on break at work at about 14:30. The ETA was set for Tuesday 12th September so, when I had an e-mail at about 23:00 from Amazon saying that I would receive them today I was impressed, yet again. I’m not a Prime member – as much as I love Amazon, I just don’t use it enough to warrant the fee but at the rate they’re adding new benefits that could very well change.
There have been a number of occasions where the delivery of my orders have been a lot quicker than expected which, as someone who usually chooses the free option and to group them into as few packages as possible, comes as a great surprise and delight. The only downside is that my table isn’t likely to be here until between the 14th and the 18th of this month so we’ll have to make do with our current coffee table or the dining table for now.
I wanted to give everyone a little preview of the games in this post and will aim to have a review of each in time for the weekend.
Zombie Dice
Eat brains. Don’t get shotgunned.
In Zombie Dice, you are a zombie. You want braaains – more brains than any of your zombie buddies. The 13 custom dice are your victims. Push your luck to eat their brains, but stop rolling before the shotgun blasts end your turn! Whoever collects 13 brains first wins. Each game takes 10 to 20 minutes and can be taught in a single round.
Each turn, you take three dice from the box and roll them. A brain symbol is worth one point at the end of the round, while footsteps allow you to re-roll this particular dice. Shotgun blasts on the other hand are rather bad, cause if you collect three shotgun blasts during your turn, it is over for you and you get no points. After rolling three dice, you may decide if you want to score your current brain collection or if you want to push your luck by grabbing new dice so you have three again and roll once more.

Get Bit!
“You don’t have to be faster than the shark, just faster than your friends!”
Get Bit! is a card game where players are competing to stay alive as the others are being eaten by the shark.
The order of the swimmers is determined by simultaneously playing cards face-down then revealing the values. The number on each player’s card determines position in line (higher numbers in front, lower numbers in back), however ties don’t move. The swimmer at the back loses a limb to the shark and is flung to the front of the line! The process is repeated until only two swimmers remain on the table. When this happens, the swimmer at the front of the line wins the game!

Murdero
Murdero is a fixed deck collectible card game with a Murder Mystery theme. The aim of the game is to complete sets of case cards to solve murders. There are 45 case cards numbered 1 to 5 and 15 action cards in the deck. Action cards alter the gameplay mechanics. Additional decks can be added, and players are encouraged to design their own deck builds by adding or removing case and action cards.
