Cover Art Robot: Brian Bolland & John Burns
This week features a mighty super cover with Tharg and the stars of 2000AD towering above Earthlets who appear to be transfixed by the splendiferous vision.
My pick of the Prog is: Judge Dredd
Script Robot: John Howard
Art Robot: Mike McMahon
Lettering Robot: Tom Frame
Christmas comes early to the Des O’Connor Block as Barney (the City Hall computer)goes a little bonkers. Chaos ensues with people being told exactly what they want to hear because Barney wants to make them happy – unable to see the consequences of the lies and false hopes. Dredd and the other Judges try to contain the situation but it’s ultimately the tragic loss of a child and a mother asking if Barney can bring her back to life. Barney hesistates and says he can but the mother calls out his lie and asks that she be miserable again and Barney realises his error and shuts down. And then we ave a cracking line from Dredd: “As far as I’m concerned, Telfer, happiness is law and order!”
Prog 144 shutdown! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 145.
Florix Grabundae!
