Nerdful Things – Tabletop Project Part 2
I wrote in a previous post about the table I had ordered and it is here and complete. It arrived on Wednesday and I manage to build it after I finished work that evening. I was pretty much non-stop when I came home after finishing work at what should have been 18:45 (I finished later as I got stuck on a call).
I’m pretty impressed with the finished piece and the red felt is a stunning touch, I think.
The instructions weren’t overly clear but I managed after fighting with my staple gun – I was running low on staples and some of them wouldn’t attach and just buckled but I managed to get the felt down with a couple staples to spare. Once the sides were on it held the felt in place even better so I wasn’t too worried about the staples.
We had to wait until Thursday evening before we could try it out…
We’ve played a few games of Zombie Dice on it so far and, last night, we tried to play Cluedo but the table is not quite wide enough for the board – FAIL. Nevertheless I still love it and for pure dice games, card games and games that use slightly smaller boards it will serve well.
Now that this is done, I’m looking to expand our game collection and I would be keen to get some ideas from my readers – ideally, the games would have to be 3-player and require little set up and be suitable for ages 8+.
What kind of set ups has everyone else got? Feel free to share your tables/rigs below!
