Demetrios is a quirky point and click adventure game inspired by classics like Broken Sword, packed with tons of humor!

Bjorn Thonen, a slob of an antique dealer living in Paris, is robbed one night after coming home drunk. Forced to conduct his own investigation with the help of his neighbor Sandra, he ends up involved in a murky, mysterious affair.

Will these unlikely heroes be able to rise up and discover ancient secrets?

Platform played on: Playstation 4

Quick Thoughts

  • Visually, it’s decent.
  • Too much dialogue – literally wading through it and it saps any enjoyment out of the game like a digital Colin Robinson.
  • It’s a story that I don’t care about and doesn’t really make any sense.
  • Some elements such as plate shooting at the fair work better on the Vita.
  • Bjorn’s body language in the covert art sums up how I feel.

Verdict

I give it a facepalm.  Pick it up in the current or future sales if you’re a trophy/achievement hunter.  It’s not a terrible game and you may enjoy it more than I, but to state it’s inspired by Broken Sword  and to then ignore a lot, if not all, of the key elements that made Broken Sword  such an enjoyable and playable series seems a wee bit cheeky and daft.
