Welcome to Prog 77 featuring ‘Ant Wars‘, ‘Robo-Hunter’, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 12 August 1978.

Cover Art Robot: Brian Bolland

As soon as I saw the cover it made me think of Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man and his stint as Judge Dredd in the 1995 movie. The Jolly Green Giant song in Taco Bell in Demolition Man always made me chuckle.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Judge Dredd‘.

Script Robot: Jack Adrian

Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

As Judge Dredd continues his journey across the Cursed Earth we encounter the Jolly Green Giant and some other odd characters. I loved this strip thanks to its silliness and Bolland‘s striking artwork. I also can’t help but see Christopher Reeve‘s face in the Jolly Green Giant.

Prog 77 crumpled! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 78!
