Welcome to Prog 154 featuring ‘Blackhawk‘, ‘The V.C.’s‘, ‘Fiends of the Eastern Front‘, ‘Robo-Hunter‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 1 March 1980.

Cover Art Robot: Ian Gibson

Sam Slade is tormented by Teeny Meks on this weeks cover.

My pick of the Prog is: Judge Dredd

Script Robot: Pat Mills

Art Robot: Ron Smith

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

Judge Dredd is still on the case of Satanus. After unwittingly consuming the blood of Satanus, Rex Peters has become part human, part tyrannosaur. His tale reminds me a lot of Man-Bat from the Batman series whereby Dr Kirk Langstrom developed a serum to give human’s bat-like sonar ability but it turned him into a monster. A sort of modern day Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde story. Again, the artwork here is outstanding and yet more fantastic story telling from Pat Mills.

Prog 154 chomped to death! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 155.

Florix Grabundae!
