Welcome to Prog 210 featuring ‘Strontium Dog‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Return to Armageddon‘, ‘Meltdown Man‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 2 May 1981.

Cover Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Judge Dredd raids a “body bank” on this weeks cover.

My pick of the Prog is: Meltdown Man

Script Robot: Alan Hebden

Art Robot: Belardinelli

Lettering Robot: Jack Potter

I loved how Meltdown Man opens in this episode. Some Predator Minks being their normal selves without fear of Leeshar or his captains. There’s something almost Looney Tunes, particularly Wile E.Coyote, what with the newspaper with its “all in easy to read big print” which is even more comical given minks are known for their excellent eyesight… But then again, what good is vision when you can’t even tell the difference between real and illusion as we soon see…?

Maybe wanking does affect your eyesight given that these minks are clearly fans of this world’s equivalent of Page 3.

Prog 210 lured from its perch by enticing illusion! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 211.
