Welcome to my personal Prog slog through 2000AD. Here, I post daily about my favourite story from each Prog. I started doing this as a means of focusing my attention on something. A hobby, if you will. Something that will bring joy and fond memories for fans as well as draw attention to and hopefully bring in new readers to The Galaxy’s Greatest Comic. I have never read these Progs before. I recall reading some of Flesh at some point in my childhood, knew of Judge Dredd from a PlayStation One game and then the 1995 Movie, Rogue Trooper from the PlayStation 2 Game and had heard of other stories and seen other characters from seeing posts online. So I’m pretty much experiencing most of these stories as an intergalactic virgin. Or something. Welcome to Prog 300 featuring ‘Time Twisters‘, ‘Harry Twenty on the High Rock‘, ‘Robo-Hunter‘, ‘Rogue Trooper‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 22 January 1983.

My pick of the Prog is: Harry Twenty on the High Rock

If my maths is correct, it’s taken thirteen episodes for Harry to finally make good his escape and make it Earth-side again. A frantic tussle sees Harry almost miss his own departure as he fends off other numbers as the rocket is about to take off. It’s frantic and tight but he makes it. Harry, Genghis and Ben have a pant browningly descent to Earth and splash down in the ocean after an exhilarating journey. But something tells me that’s not the end and more trouble is in store for Harry and his companions as this escape, albeit it took a while for all the parts of his plan to align to make it happen but it seems a bit too easy, all things considered… Either way, enjoy your freedom Harry, you’ve earned it!
