Nerdful Things – Tabletop Project

So I cheated when it came to the LEGO table buy buying one.  There is no chance in Hell that I will manage a feat of crafting my own game table either so I’m kinda cheating this time but I will have a little work to do (aside from just assembling a flat pack).

So, furthermore to an earlier post, I ordered a lift-top coffee table with the intention of covering the internal piece with red felt before fitting it together and plan to not fit the lifting mechanisms so that it has to just be physically lifted off.  By day it’s a coffee table; by night it’s going to (hopefully) be a kick-ass black game table with a stunning red felt interior.  Dice rolling off the table should be a thing of the past!

It should be arriving Wednesday of this coming week, but I’m working Tuesday through Friday and won’t have much time in the evening so I’m not sure when I can cobble my project together.  To typical blokey blokes this isn’t even deserving of the tile of a project but for me this is a pretty big deal as I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a craftsman nor a man of practical creativity.  To be fair, I shouldn’t really be able to fuck this up.  Right?

The good thing is, I’m off next weekend so the fruits of my labour can be enjoyed then as I should then have ‘Zombie Dice‘, ‘Get Bit!’ and ‘Murdero‘ for us to play.  I’m planning on doing some gameplay videos and/or reviews of the games to post on the weekend as well.

It sounds daft, but I’m pretty excited to get my hands on all this goodness as it’s been a while since we’ve tried out a new boardgame and we haven’t really stepped into the realms of tabletop gaming proper so this will hopefully pose as a stepping stone into new territory.

In the meantime, I hope you all had a great weekend and Monday treats you kindly!
