2000ADHD – A Prog a Day – Prog 69 (Dude!)

Welcome to Prog 69 featuring ‘M.A.C.H Zero‘, ‘Death Planet‘, ‘Walter the Wobot‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 17 June 1978.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Judge Dredd‘.

Script Robot: Pat Mills

Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

As Dredd makes his way across the Cursed Earth  to deliver the vaccine to Mega-City 2 he stops off for some provisions (and probably nice stretch if the legs to) but, Dredd being how he is, he despises the folks hes dealing with for their slave labour. Despite the fascist regime of which he serves, he does get angered and is intolerant of a lot of things like the rest of us would be. So of course, it’s not long before more trouble brews and he fights to protect the alien, Tweak. The artwork is truly superb in this strip and I also want to draw attention to the line on the front cover which is not too dissimilar to what we hear Robocop say six years later…

Prog 69 flipped and flopped! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 70!
