Welcome to Prog 70 featuring ‘M.A.C.H Zero‘, ‘Death Planet‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 24 June 1978.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Death Planet‘.

Script Robot: Alan Hebden

Art Robot: Lopez

Lettering Robot: John Aldrich

In the final episode of ‘Death Planet‘, we see our survivors get the better of Zeena Dra Gornick as Cory sacrifices himself to save the others. I loved the panels here depicting scenes you’ve no doubt seen in Jurassic World and the like. It was a great way to conclude this short-ish run. It was a fitting conclusion, I feel – an abrupt landing on an alien planet and a relatively abrupt conclusion to the series. It ended as it began.

Prog 70 swooped and scooped! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 71!
