Welcome to Prog 113 featuring ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘Rick Random‘, ‘Strontium Dog‘, ‘Ro-Busters‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 19 May 1979.

Cover Art Robot: Brendan McCarthy

Dredd strikes a pose on this weeks cover and he means business. As he always does.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Judge Dredd‘.

Script Robot: J Howard

Art Robot: B Ewins

Lettering Robot: T Frame

Judge Dredd finds himself on a different type of case than we’ve seen before in The DNA Man. A cloning experiment gone awry and, yet another character that I think looks remarkably like Pat Mills… Is there perhaps a hidden meaning behind this from John Wagner (I post the names as they appear on the Credit Card but J Howard was one of several aliases used by Wagner) – is 2000AD perhaps Dennis in this story and it’s a reflection of what Pat Mills and himself have unleashed into the world? Or has my mind just gone on a tangent and I’ve inadvertently become a Futsie?

Prog 113 sent for genetic modification! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 114.
