Welcome to Prog 136 featuring ‘Blackhawk‘, ‘ABC Warriors‘, ‘Disaster 1990‘, ‘The Mind of Wolfie Smith‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 27 October 1979.

Cover Art Robot: Massimo Belardinelli

This cover relates to no thrill inside but it’s very striking nonetheless. The alien beast reminds me of the flying Cthulhu-like creature seen in the opening credits of Rick & Morty.

My pick of the Prog is: Blackhawk

Script Robot: Alvin Gaunt

Art Robot: Belardinelli

Lettering Robot: Jack Potter

Blackhawk is pitted against yet another creature at the behest if The Entertainers. Th deatail and the action in this episode is fantastic (as they all have been but this is the first time it’s made my pick). I just love the torment of Blackhawk and the feeling of despair as he is wrangling with the notion that this is his life and he’s in an almost Groundhog Day-esque hell.

Prog 136 given the chop-chop! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 137.
