Welcome to Prog 15 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Flesh‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘Harlem Heroes‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 4 June 1977.
I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.
For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part an put my favourite at the end.
‘Invasion!‘ continues with the attack on Doomsdale Nuclear Research Station and a tanker full of acid.
‘Flesh‘ is more carnage as the meat-eaters run riot depicting some comical moments amidst the horror.
The ‘Harlem Heroes‘ has Zack and Red going head to head in sudden death.
‘Dan Dare‘ and co land in the most improbable location and can Mekon really be looking at this old nemesis after all these years?
‘M.A.C.H.1‘ is on an opium trail and finds himself in a pickle with not one but two starving and angry yetis.
And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘Judge Dredd‘. Pitting robot against robot, we see Dredd and Walter overcome insurmountable odds. I loved this page below as Dredd develops a brief speech impediment as Walter rubs off on him. Dredd‘s cheeky one liner in the last panel got me too.Prog 15 demolished! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 16!
