Welcome to Prog 151 featuring ‘Blackhawk‘, ‘The V.C.’s‘, ‘Stainless Steel Rat‘, ‘Timequake‘,’Captain Klep‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 9 February 1980.

Cover Art Robot: Carlos Ezquerra

Another Stainless Steel Rat cover this week with the climax for series proclaimed but what fate shall meet diGriz and Angelina?

My pick of the Prog is: Judge Dredd

Script Robot: John Howard

Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

I know, I know. Three straight picks going to Judge Dredd but seriously, can you blame me? I was a bit shocked with this as I had always thought this series lasted longer than three mere Progs especially given that so much rests on the imagery across the three episodes, most notable of course is Anderson encased like Snow White after using her body as a prison to keep Judge Death at bay. I think this could have done to have been a bit longer – a bit more chaos caused by Judge Death with the ante raising each Prog until it hits its climax. Given how, in my opinion, some weaker stories have been dragged out over a lot more episodes than may have been necessary, it does leave me craving more. But, I know this isn’t the last we see of Judge Death nor Anderson so I look forward to the next encounters!

Prog 151 cocooned! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 152.
