Welcome to Prog 182 featuring ‘Dash Decent‘, ‘Tharg Saves the Day!,  ‘The Mean Arena‘, ‘Meltdown Man‘, ‘Strontium Dog‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 18 October 1980.

Cover Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Judge Dredd is back in Mega-City One and he’s declaring entire blocks are under arrest!

My pick of the Prog is: Judge Dredd

Script Robot: John Howard

Art Robot: Brian Bolland

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

Judge Dredd has returned from his intergalactic travels and, while the council deliberate over his actions and expenditure on the Judge Child quest, he is attending a block war. I love the action, interspersed with the council discussing Dredd‘s actions – it plays out very well and clues us into what Dredd is unaware of. And, as a bit of a pirate fan I love the residents swing across from block to block like a boarding party. It’s daft and it’s fun – welcome back to Earth Judge Dredd!

Prog 182 judged by its peers! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 183.
