Halfway to Paradise sees Abelard end up in the Dimension for Disinherited Deities: a place where forgotten gods end up. Along the lines of Neil Gaiman‘s ‘American Gods‘ long before it ever became a thing. Abelard sees a way of the gods reinventing themselves and becoming relevant again such as Apollo running a disco, Eros becoming an author of romantic fiction and Ares becoming th god of Space Invaders machines. But soon, the followers make sacrifices to their new gods much to Abelard‘s dismay and disgust. As a result of his protestation, Zeus punishes Abelard by imprisoning him until he can solve the devilish puzzle that is, what is essentially, a Rubik’s Cube. Abelard delights in this but the punishment comes with a twist. He cannot see the cube as it is massive in size and he is sat atop it knowing he has been tricked but none the wiser as to the fact he is sitting on the puzzle itself. Could this be the final folly of our man Abelard?

Prog 245 forsaken by the old gods anew! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 246.
