Welcome to Prog 249 featuring ‘Ace Trucking‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Nemesis the Warlock‘, ‘Rogue Trooper‘, ‘The Mean Arena‘, and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 30 January 1982.
Cover Art Robot: Dave Gibbons
The Dreamweavers focus on Rogue on this weeks cover in what is one of my favourite covers to date!
My pick of the Prog is: Nemesis the Warlock
Script Robot: P Mills
Art Robot: Redondo
Lettering Robot: S Potter
The first page of this episode is nothing short of astounding and gorgeous. I’d love to see a colourised version of this (is there one? Let me know in the comments). It would make for a fantastic painting in the style of the Sistine Chapel. I could have done with a bit more aerial combat but that’s just me being greedy. Aside from the stunning visuals, the story progresses to tease the fate of the captured humans as they are about to embark on a journey to the prison planet of Arachnos!
Prog 249 shuttles off to Arachnos! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 250.
Florix Grabundae!
Have you read this Prog? If so, what was your favourite strip? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
