That Fat Boy Slims – The Ketogenic Diet – Day 5
I really struggled to get up this morning. Maybe it was because I only had 2 alarms set instead of 4, I dunno. My hayfever was bad from the on-set so it slowed me down and I lacked the same energy and focus when preparing for work and sorting out the kids’ packed lunches too. The walk to work even felt like a struggle.
I fasted until around 10:30 so that was about twelve hours. I started off felling sick but hungry. I changed things up slightly today, though. I packed clementines and some grapes and skipped the carrots. I took the nine cheese, egg and Kabanosy my wife made last night – I felt like a pig taking them all in and I should have left some as I only ate three in work.
I took my yoghurt as usual, an apple and my salad and ham as well as my cheese cubes and extra Kabanosy. I ditched the banana and ended up not eating my yoghurt, apple and all of my salad. I found myself struggling to eat and forcing myself to in order to hit my calories for My Fitness Pal to allow me to complete my diary. As it stood, my consumption wasn’t enough in work so I had to have another muffin at home and two fat bombs.
Unlike yesterday, I needed some double-double espressos on two of my breaks as I was crashing around 14:30. The day passed quick – I had a ton of work and just managed to finish it all; it seemed time was against me as I was making slow progress and time wanted me to not finish but I managed. Just.
The walk home from work was a lot more energised and, art the time of writing this, I feel pretty fucking amazing – even my back is better after it kinda popped when I stood up to go on break earlier this afternoon!
I have the weekend off and my wife is working so this will be a challenge having the diet to manage as well as the kids. I’m hoping to take the kids to the park or go for a long walk and fast for longer so fingers crossed!
As far as my macros go, not a great picture and I’m certain I’m not going into ketosis. We have some ketosis testing strips coming so it’ll be interesting to see how we fare.
