That Fat Boy Slims – The Ketogenic Diet – Day 6
Weekend off work. Normally I don’t get out of bed until around 9:30 and end up feeling really groggy and lethargic. Today, I was up at 8:00 to get ready to take my wife to work so I could be up and about and be more likely to be productive today. I id feel a buit tired but soon found a load more energy than I usually have on my weekends off.
I broke my fast at 13:00 with one of the egg, Kabanosy and cheese muffins and a mini Pepperami. Oh, at around 10:00 I had a black coffee.
I took the kids to Cyfartha Park this afternoon – we walked there and back so I could get a good amount of steps in seeing as I’m off work. I plan on going to Thomastown Park tomorrow – it’s closer but it’s uphill so what I’m losing insteps I hope to gain through exertion. It was scorching so the walk was hot and sweaty.
We spent about forty minutes there, I grabbed the girls some ice cream for the walk home and I could have snatched it off them – I really fucking wanted some. I was able to keep the desire at bay. The walk was pretty decent but my back was bad again and I was breaking in new trainers so my legs and back ache more than they probably would have under more normal conditions.
I had another muffin at about 16:15 and a peanut butter fat bomb as well to keep me going.
Dinner consisted of a chicken breast stuffed with cheddar cheese and wrapped in streaky bacon on a bed of spinach. It was amazing but I found myself feeling really hungry afterwards. Another ball-ache is the fact that My Fitness Pal is forcing me to have more stuff just to make up my calories as it won’t let me complete my diary – give me an override option. Last night, I wasn’t hungry but I crammed more on just because I had to. My fat macro leaves a lot to be desired but, although I’m hungry, there’s nothing I really fancy eating. I worry that this diet may make me enjoy food less – I already found it a chore to eat and would avoid it if I could – but hopefully the focus and drive it gives me switches that round.
And so I find myself wanting something for dessert but the yoghurts will take me over my carbs and I don’t want to do that. Protein is my next issue as it’s consistently high too. So I settled for a coffee with double cream to up my fat and make my macros look a lot more reasonable.
Although My Fitness Pal always gives an update on estimated weight based on the days proceedings, I figured I’d share this one as it’s the best result it’s given me so far…
