Welcome to Prog 22 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Shako!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘Harlem Heroes‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 23 July 1977.

I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.

For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part an put my favourite at the end.

Invasion!‘ sees Savage and co helping out some cattle farmer dude and discovering the joys of synthetic meat.

Shako!‘ has a stare-off with Dollar.

The ‘Harlem Heroes‘ make it to Japan to face off against the Bushido Blades. More unpolitical correctness ensues.

Dan Dare‘ finds Mekon in a spot of bother against the Two of Veranth and the Skash.

M.A.C.H.1‘ overcomes some skirmish over oil – gotta be honest, I switched off when reading this. I kinda want John Probe to fuck off…

And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘Judge Dredd‘ is back in prime position as he commits a bit of arson with what has to be one of the most action movie-esque one-liners ever…

Prog 22 fired off into orbit! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 23!
