Welcome to Prog 23 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Shako!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘Harlem Heroes‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 30 July 1977.
I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.
For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part an put my favourite at the end.
The ‘Harlem Heroes‘ battle on against the Bushido Blades and their kamikaze technique.
‘Shako!‘ goes under the knife. Almost.
‘Dan Dare‘ concludes his skirmish with Mekon before he heads off for a well deserved break (the last we’ll see of him for a bit as he treks off back to Earth).
‘M.A.C.H.1‘ locates a downed agent to recover some film.
‘Judge Dredd‘ shows us how smoking truly can kill.
And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘Invasion!‘ takes us further north as Savage ambushes a convoy. I loved this strip, especially the final page and the final panel where Savage heads off in an image that reminds me of Walking Tall.Prog 23 shoots off tot the stars! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 24!
