Welcome to Prog 178 featuring ‘Dash Decent‘, ‘The Mean Arena‘, ‘Meltdown Man‘, ‘Strontium Dog‘, ‘Nemesis the Warlock‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 20 September 1980.
Cover Art Robot: Mike McMahon
‘Britain’s No. 1 Sci-Fi Hero’, Judge Dredd dominates this weeks cover.
My pick of the Prog is: Meltdown Man
Script Robot: Alan Hebden
Art Robot: Belardinelli
Lettering Robot: Jack Potter
Nick Stone, SAS Sergeant, debuts in this Prog in a tale that takes him to a strange new world in the aftermath of a nuke but the spin takes us somewhere we don’t necessarily get to go. It reminds me a lot of Stephen King‘s Dark Tower and Stephen King & Peter Straub’s Talisman. With fantastic artwork from Belardinelli and an intriguing story, I sense this will become another favourite of mine…
Prog 178 blasted into a new dimension! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 179.
