Cover Art Robot: Dave Gibbons

This week, we have an alien attack on the cover that has nothing to do with the contents therein.

My pick of the Prog is: Ro-Jaws’ Robo-Tales

Script Robot: G P Rice

Art Robot: Dave Gibbons

Lettering Robot: Dave Gibbons

Ro-Jaws treats us to a robo-ghost story in “Spirit of Vengeance“. It’s your standard tale of man being greedy, taking advantage of a system and milking it for all its worth and doing so with hapless abandon. I think this story is, in some ways, more relatable to now than it was back in the eighties due to the continued rise in AI despite the warnings from James Cameron with The Terminator and the like. This is partly why, when using my Google Home devices, I always thank the assistant and say “please” when making requests. I wanna be on AI’s good list when the time comes…

Prog 196 tormented by robo-spirits! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 197.
