Welcome to Prog 43 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Bonjo From Beyond the Stars‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 17 December 1977.

I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.

For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part and put my favourite at the end.

Judge Dredd‘ continues to have his life under threat as the new Marshal of Luna-1.

Invasion!‘ continues with more circus antics.

‘Bonjo From Beyond the Stars‘ continues with more Asian cuisine.

Dan Dare‘ finds another slave planet under the rule of the Starslayer Empire, this time a planet of gladiator alien dudes.

Inferno‘ continues with the Heroes‘ tussle against Shafer’s Sickles led by Ernie Shafer who is rocking a Noddy Holder-esque look.

And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ reveals a previous M.A.C.H project thanks to a jobsworth accountant fella. MACH Zero reminds me of the super mutants in the Fallout game series, I couldn’t help but read his dialogue with their voices in my head.

Prog 43 assimilated! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 44!
