2000ADHD – A Prog a Day – Prog 24

Welcome to Prog 24 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Shako!‘, ‘Tharg and the Intruder‘, ‘Harlem Heroes‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 6 August 1977.

I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.

For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part an put my favourite at the end.

Invasion!‘ takes us to Hadrian’s Wall with a highly explosive chapter up north.

The ‘Harlem Heroes‘ try a different approach against the Bushido Blades.

M.A.C.H.1‘ almost experiences the Midas’ Touch.

Tharg and the Intruder‘ is a nice filler for the absence of Dan Dare as Tharg teaches us why 2000AD is the best comic in the galaxy.

Shako!‘ shows us his loving compassionate side as well as how to deep freeze.

Dan Dare‘ concludes his skirmish with Mekon before he heads off for a well deserved break (the last we’ll see of him for a bit as he treks off back to Earth).

And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘Judge Dredd‘ once again, but this time we come to see the origin of a concept depicted in the movies – the Lawgiver and it’s programming.

Prog 24 bagged and tagged! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 25!
