Welcome to Prog 66 featuring ‘M.A.C.H Zero‘, ‘Death Planet‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 27 May 1978.

I’ve decided to change up the way I do these as I feel like it’s a mundane task and not really an enjoyable read so instead of giving a short synopsis of every strip, I will focus on my Pick of the Prog only. Feel free to drop a comment with your thoughts on the change and any other ideas.

This time around, my pick is ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘.

Script Robot: Philip Greenway

Art Robot: Ron Tiner

Lettering Robot: Bill Nuttall

I love a good Future-Shock. Brevity and a twist. This one, I believe was dubbed, ‘Fugitive‘. Drawing another comparison to ‘Fallout‘ in my mind with the synths and the Railroad and so on as well as Bladerunner and other android-centric tales. I was kinda expecting the fugitive to have turned out to be human after all but I guess they couldn’t do that even if they wanted to given how disturbing that would have been for kids at the time… Nevertheless, still enjoyed this mini-tale.

Prog 66 charbroiled! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 67!
