That Fat Boy Slims – The Ketogenic Diet – Day 17
I really struggled to get out of bed this morning. I set my first alarm for 05:00 and must have reset my alarm about six times before I ended up getting outta bed just after 07:00. My stomach was churning as soon as I got up and went to the toilet – I’m thinking the magnesium may have caused a reaction – more on that later.
I weighed and, a day later than I had hoped, I am officially 1st down. I’m now 15st 11lbs. Not too shabby but it could’ve been better. Hopefully these next few days of starting my day with a bulletproof coffee will help accelerate this – the scales will be the judge in the morning.
So, after making the kids’ packed lunches I made myself and my wife a bulletproof coffee. As my travel mug is a lot bigger, I put two teaspoons of coffee in, some butter and double cream along with boiling water and I added half a teaspoon of cocoa to try and give the coffee a nice flavour. Mixed it in my Breville Active Blend and it worked out well, I think. I couldn’t really taste the cocoa but it did seem to take the edge off a bit. I may experiment with different things to find a flavour that’s just right. For now, it’ll do. I was thinking of mixing in some granulated stevia – maybe tomorrow. I also took a magnesium pill.
Not long after I took the magnesium I started feeling a bit sick and my stomach started churning but after about an hour it settled down and I was okay. I’ve read that magnesium supplements may not work for some people but, unless I have any majorly adverse effects, I will see how it goes for a week and figure out where to go next with it.
For my lunch, I took some chicken wings and two burgers. Despite being fairly plain, they tasted good and they really filled me up. I also took a can of Moose Juice – berry flavour this time. It kinda tasted like fizzy Parma Violets. Divine. And I had some almonds to snack on.
I finished work at 21:00 and by the time I got in I felt a bit peckish but I’ve opted not to eat anything. The food my wife made for dinner has been packed in the fridge ready for me to take to work tomorrow.
I’m hoping to wake up early tomorrow so I can do a bit of DDP Yoga/some sort of workout before I get ready for work. We’ll see.
It’s 22:07 by the time I write this and, although my eyes feel tired, I feel pretty energetic and alert. Lying in bed will probably quash that but I am really enjoying this newfound energy and positive feeling that I have gained since starting this diet.
I started watching ‘Sugar Coated‘ last night and plan to finish that and move on to some other documentaries relating to sugar, carbs, keto and the like – it’s pretty eye-opening what the government and corporations are trying to brainwash us with and sneakily ply into our food and drink. It kinda reminds me of the Leviathans in ‘Supernatural‘ and their fast-food abominations.
Anyhoo, my macro game was pretty strong today and I’m very pleased with the results!
