Welcome to Prog 79 featuring ‘Ant Wars‘, ‘Robo-Hunter’, ‘Walter the Wobot‘, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 26 August 1978.

Cover Art Robot: Mike McMahon

As the cover proclaims, Dredd is in Vegas. Featuring, what appears to be, a slot machine throne, Dredd‘s fate is in the hands of the ‘God-Judge‘.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Judge Dredd‘.

Script Robot: TB Grover

Art Robot: Mike McMahon

Lettering Robot: Johnny Aldrich

I love the line “IS NOTHING SACRED!”. Vegas looks fantastic and the setting itself is great. The theme of this seedy world oozes through the pages and, as a bit of a Mafia nut, this part of the Cursed Earth is probably my favourite. Even though they don the Judge uniforms, you can tell by their faces that they are ne’er-do-wells and Dredd‘s sheer disgust at them is hilarious.

Prog 79 cashed out! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 80!
