That Fat Boy Slims – The Ketogenic Diet – Day 12
Yet another sluggish start to the day. It took me about half an hour to get out of bed and I felt super tired. I weighed this morning, as usual, and had a sneaking suspicion that I’d gained weight. The scales affirmed my suspicions – 2lbs gained. I’m not disheartened – I figured as much seeing as it’s not doing me any favours by not eating.
I made the kids’ packed lunches and then we all walked to school. Another boiling day here today. A shop in town is closing down so we had a gander – picked up a few things but I didn’t bring my wallet and my wife didn’t have her purse. NFC payment doesn’t work for me as my phone case blocks it and the case is screwed on so that’s me fucked. We thought we had more than £30 worth so Apple Pay was a no-go too, so we ditched the basket behind a pillar with the intention of walking home and driving back down to grab the stuff then head off to Asda.
It was a fairly busy day – we stripped the kids’ beds and got the bedding in for wash and headed back out. We grabbed our stuff exactly where we left it – a lot of stocking fillers and small presents for the kids’ Christmas and some other odds and ends. Then we headed up to Asda and bought some veg and stuff. We wanted to surprise the kids with a water fight so we went to B&M Bargains to grab some water pistols and water balloons.
After we picked Georgia up from school we came home and I ate the rest of my burgers from last night. I was feeling peckish but not overly hungry but at least I wanted something. We did a bit more housework and then drove to get the eldest two from school before coming back home and finishing up the tidying.
The water fight began as the kids were skipping with their new skipping ropes out the front and I told them to look into the living room window to see what the cats were doing. I pelted a water balloon above the window to drench them and pulled a little water pistol out of the waist of my jeans and soon we were all armed and soaking.
It was a good half hour or so running about and soaking each other and it was lush to cool down in the baking hot sun. The kids seemed to enjoy it and it’s the first time we’ve all really ran about outside playing; it brought back a lot of nostalgia and some fond memories as a kid.
To dry off, we went out the back so the kids could play on the trampoline while I had a smoke and put down more weedkiller. It was nice to kinda just relax but still be doing something at the same time.
By 19:00 I started to feel hungry so my wife cooked me some chicken breasts, asparagus and spring greens. As she was cooking it, My stomach growled like Cujo thanks to the delightful smells emanating from the kitchen. It tasted as divine as it smelled and, for a change, I managed to eat it all.
I haven’t logged anything on My Fitness Pal as I dunno how the burgers would track and it would just make a mess of the day where the macros etc. would make no sense.
I’m back in work tomorrow and I have no idea what to take in food-wise over the weekend. I’m concerned this diet isn’t working out very well so far, despite the weight loss to date. Hopefully my appetite returns to something resembling normality and that my back gets better soon so I can exercise a lot more and try to get this shell of a body in a more respectable shape.
I currently use Muscle Food and their amazing deals on meat hampers. If you want to grab yourself a great deal, head over here.
Additional supplements such as Apple Cider Vinegar, Coconut Oil etc. we get from Holland & Barett.
