Welcome to Prog 52 which marks the one year anniversary of 2000 AD and features ‘Colony Earth‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Walter the Wobot Fwiend of Dwedd‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘The Visible Man‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 18 February 1978.

Dan Dare‘ makes a shocking discovery in a storyline that reminds me of an episode of Star Trek.

The Visible Man‘ basically says “Goodbye cruel world”.

Colony Earth‘ gives us a new thrill in a storyline akin to The Day the Earth Stood Still/ with a find that looks a lot like Black Manta.

Judge Dredd‘ has a bank robber story where the robbers use the faces of comedy characters from the 20th Century.

Inferno!‘ has Regal Eegle try out and concludes with a bit of a shock for Giant.

‘Walter the Wobot Fwiend of Dwedd‘ goes on the run as an impostor commits robberies as Walter.

And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘ gives us a tale that is not too dissimilar from an episode of The Twilight Zone.

Prog 52 drifts off into the vacuum of space! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 53!
