2000ADHD – A Prog a Day – Prog 45

Welcome to Prog 45 which features ‘Invasion!‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘, ‘Bonjo From Beyond the Stars‘, ‘Inferno!‘, ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 31 December 1977.

I’ve been struggling with figuring out how to format these posts in the sense of listing the stories in the order they’re printed or just keeping my favourite until last. Not sure what makes for better reading or if anyone who reads this just wants to see what my pick is and then buggers off? Let me know in the comments what you prefer.

For now, I think I’ll stick to the order in which they appear for the most part and put my favourite at the end.

Judge Dredd‘ shows us a case of ‘Futsie‘ – I believe it has been referenced before but we get a whole story dedicated to a sufferer of ‘Future Shock‘.

‘Bonjo From Beyond the Stars‘ heads to Tibet in a smaller page story.

Invasion!‘ has Savage and co knocking off a bank and an old enemy re-emerges.

Dan Dare‘ heads towards doom.

Tharg’s Future-Shocks‘ returns with a story that reminds me of Stephen King‘s ‘Christine‘.

Inferno‘ takes us to the Crystal Maze as the Heroes continue in their pursuit of the truth.

And my “Pick of the Prog“: ‘M.A.C.H.1‘ fights to gain the trust of MACH Zero. I really feel for MACH Zero and can see a heavy resemblance to ‘Swamp Thing‘ in terms of his struggle as well as the beautiful artwork in the fourth panel.

Prog 45 slammed into the meat wagon and says goodbye to 1977! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 46!
