Welcome to Prog 101 featuring ‘Dan Dare‘, ‘Robo-Hunter‘, ‘Ro-Busters‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 24 February 1979.

Cover Art Robot: Dave Gibbons

The Mekon looms large in this ominous cover while we see Dan Dare in a state we rarely see him in…

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Robo-Hunter‘.

Script Robot: TB Grover

Art Robot: Ian Gibson

Lettering Robot: Steve Potter

Slade continues on his journey to Big Brain to have the robot planet recognise humans as they are and not the “Sims” as they currently believe. In the sewers he encounters some robot rats before being swallowed by the Sewergator. Inside, we meet BO who reminds me heavily of Gollum in The Hobbit what with the whole talking to himself as multiple personalities and then wanting to play a game for Sam‘s fate, very much like the riddle game Gollum and Bilbo play.

Prog 101 devoured by a Sewergator! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 102.
