Welcome to Prog 74 featuring ‘M.A.C.H Zero‘, ‘Ant Wars‘, ‘Tharg’s Future-Shocks’, ‘Inferno!’, ‘Dan Dare‘ and ‘Judge Dredd‘, published on 22 July 1978.

Cover Art Robot: Mike McMahon

This cover is amazing. Flesh is back with a vengeance as Satanus is about to chow down on some Dredd.

My Pick of the Prog in this issue is ‘Judge Dredd‘ (no surprises there).

Script Robot: Pat Mills

Art Robot: Mike McMahon

Lettering Robot: Tom Frame

This strip is fantastic. It’s exciting and it doesn’t just plonk dinosaurs into the Cursed Earth and call itself Flesh. No, Satanus is actually the son of Old One Eye whom we first met in Prog 3 and died in Prog 19 (55 days ago in my Prog a Day timeline). I’m not sure if this is canon as, despite having not really read any 2000AD material more recent than the Progs as I publish these posts, I don’t believe dinosaurs are referenced in conjunction with the Cursed Earth again.  Correct me if I’m wrong.

Prog 74 led to the slaughter! Join me on the next one to see who/what grabs the pick of Prog 75!
